Bilal Mudassar Butt is an eminent journalist, with a special focus on Punjabi journalism. His professional career spanned over 2 decades and his engagements include column & feature writing, editorial and managerial responsibilities. As a columnist, apart from political, social and economic issues, he pens on cultural and literary activities too. Many of his research-oriented works gained such recognition that they were translated and published in international magazines.
Currently, he Is head of editorial team of the daily Bhalekha; Chief Editor of fortnightly ‘’Naag Mani’ and monthly ‘’Sonia’’, former is literary, later is fashion magazine.
Apart from being journalist, Bilal Mudassar Butt is an active member of the Punjabi movement. He played significant role in the campaign of Punjabi journalism, successfully secured 5% government advertisement quota for Punjabi newspapers. As a committed proponent of media workers rights, he has always participated in the Punjab Union of Journalists demonstrations, advocating for the rights of journalists. Besides, he leads Punjab House, the largest private institution in Lahore dedicated to host Punjabis from around the globe. Under his stewardship, the institution holds literary and cultural activities, conventions, meetings on daily basis and number of such gatherings cross thousands annually.
In recognition of his services or Punjab Seva, he has been honored with several awards, which is indeed recognition of his services for Punjabi cause. He holds a respectable status in the domains of Punjabi journalism, activism, public service and production.
